iPhone 8 and X officially announced

I will most likely sell my S8 for an iPhone X. I don't trust Google/Android anymore, especially not with my fingerprint and face scanner (I am sure they sell those cheap to companies/States).

 

Been using Android for about 6 years now but no more, Google is not to be trusted with anything.

Hehehe I still have my iphone 4. I dropped it so many times without a case on everything from sand, grass, rocks, cement, carpet...  Only the screen broke. And guess what it fell on that finished it..... Carpet....

 

 

Ok so the iphone 8 is meh to me but the X however.... Now that I am interested in. Hmmm.... Something i'd almost want more then the Note 8... Now to see what else comes out before next year

Apple are no different, I dont trust any big company, they all sell that info, if it makes money it makes sense.

I am sure Apple does "bad things" but Google runs on what people do on the Internet. Google is anti science as well. After that memo was released to the public Google showed their true face and I will not support that kind of a company.

It's just hit me... Apple will bring a 6 core to the mainstream before Intel. Guess that's Intels next marketing campaign pretty much done for now.

Android isn't the problem, it's all the Google spyware that's installed on top of Android that collects your data.  Not sure if you can get rid of all of that on a stock Nougat ROM, nowadays I tend to just install LineageOS and call it a day.  Unfortunately there's no such option for the S8 yet.  So yeah, you're basically out of luck.

 

Anyway, on topic : That top of the X' screen is amongst the ugliest design features I've ever seen on a mobile phone, and I've seen some truly horrid phones BITD (Motorola StarTAC anyone?).  They really should have blacked out that area.

my S8 only goes that bright when the auto brightness is enabled and it detects sunlight. tho it seems to also ramp contrast so stuff look a little more washed out. and for some reason it doesn't let me 'turn off' the max brightness

Few things:

1) Apple already introduced hexacore chips to their devices. The A10X is a 3+3 High perf/high efficiency chip

2) The chip works in the same manner as big.LITTLE, with 2 lower power cores always being active and having only 2 of the remaining 4 active. Effectively, a quadcore.

The Face ID didn't mess up. It said to enter password to enable it. My guess is they reset the phone or something and forgot to do that. Same thing happens on my note for the fingerprint scanner if I reset the phone. I have to enter my password at least once.

So instead you are going to support a company that has awful labor in china and other countries, are filled with virtually the same people who disagreed with the memo. Your going to be pretty much out of tech if you think switching to apple is going to make the difference. IMO Nobody should buy the Iphone X, as well as the Note 8. I really looked forward to the note 8 because i use the note 4, but i will not support their MASSIVE price increases over the years. The value of these phones is just not there for the price.

I'll probably pick up one of each if Oreo runs the S8 for me, and then root the Note 8 and keep it as it came. Both are well worth the cost if I get 2 years out of each when $600-800 Android phones last me a year, and anything below that is just outright unacceptable for what I want.

BS, there was rain just this past Saturday, I was passing through DHS on my way towards 29 palms. While the desert area gets really hot, it doesn't mean there's a lack of clouds year long. Bit of an overstatement on your part. I know you guys rarely get any of the am fog from the coast like the IE/OC though, which sucks for you guys. We get cool mornings and nights .

 

While the screen isn't 1000 Nits, I have no problem using my iPhone 5s in direct sunlight (~ +500 Nits).

Yeah... I think that a lot of the big phone companies order their display from the same factory or something... 

And iphones look don't change that much. Their OS don't change that much. 

It is more like small incremental changes, even apple claims that they "reinvented" things again.

Wrong. The panels for each individual phone are different, but the technologies may be used by more than one company.

I couldn't tell an iPhone 6 from an iPhone 8, based purely on what it looks like aesthetically.

Not buying the device isn't going to help with pricing. The Note8 has already seen double the number of preorders that we saw with the Note7. It's doing exceedingly well, even with its higher price. So clearly the majority see the value.

I was exaggerating. On average it is well over 300 days a year of sunshine, and like 5 inches of rain a year. My point was that with the sun rarely covered you can still see your phone fine (as you said).

So that GPU in A11, are they fully designed in-house? I think he mentioned something about 'our own new graphics core' or something that line. Depending on how the price is once it reaches Malaysia, I will probably get one for upgrade from the 6S. the AR was neat af..
