Combine monitor and tv in one gpu

I have my pc hooked up to a monitor and a tv while using duplicate displays.

Recently I found out that in this way my gpu works harder and that what may cause my performance drops all this time. I mostly game on my tv, is there any way to keep the desktop on both of them and to game on only one of my choosing?

(My tv is 4k and the monitor is fhd but I run them both at fhd if it matters)
