AMD or intel

If you are only gaming and want the highest FPS go for the i7 7700K.

If you want the best of two worlds (gaming with less fps but great rendering times if you make movies and stuff like that) go for Ryzen.

you ask  because you want to build a machine or is that just a rhetorical question?

do you have a budget for it or a  purpose?

I can't believe this is not a troll, given the lack of information and his spelling and grammar.

Might also be worth it to wait and pay attention to the 8700K and see how that performs as the new 6-core from intel.

well for what? also Coffee Lake is launching really soon like today is the announcement so its almost here, so its hard to answer before we know what they cost and how they perform

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

#1. Treat others as you would like to be treated.

#2. It's best to keep your mouth shut; and appear to be stupid, rather than open it and remove all doubt.

#3. There is nothing "wrong" with being wrong. Learning from a mistake can be more valuable than not making one in the first place.

The only things you should do are:

  1. Wait for Coffee Lake later this year, if you can wait, and THEN compare.
  2. Make yourself a budget
  3. Come back here explaining your needs (what you do with your computer, and what you plan to do later on (if it differs))
  4. Tell us what what you care about.

And then we can talk.

I bought a Ryzen 7. Stuck with booting issues, for a month now... The platform has too many problems. Go with Intel for an easy life. If you're willing to take the risk and capable of troubleshooting then go with Ryzen.
