Building an "alreight" pc for GF

hello Im planning on building a small pc that can game (not hardcore)

like an itx or micro atx build,

I wanted to center it off of something like a white and pink color build so something like this thermal lake white case

i need help with other components tho, this would be my first mini build so im not too familiar with these types of components.

the buget is no more than 800 on this lil Sh*$t

graphics i was think 1060 or something around that not sure

Ryzen 3 and GTX 1050ti? I mean Alright and sweet spot are usually close. If I was you I'd pick a more watercooling friendly case and stick in opaque hot pink fluid with the white, that's look sick but Ima guess watercooling is out of your budget.

I personally don't have much hope for Coffee Lake, Intel clearly has shown (up until now at least) that it's way of fighting Ryzen is to trip and end up helping it.The entire SKU of Coffee Lake looks like a mess. Also AMD is still cheaper for overclocking, I don't think Coffee Lake will be more than another nail in Intels coffin.

I mean custom water cooling, hence the pink fluid. I mean a case that had more options, I haven't found a case that was moderatly sized that you couldn't fit at least a 120mm in or smaller single rad (That'd be a china special though)

What games does she play, at what resolution? I think that's one of the key things we need to know before suggesting parts.

Does she do anything else? Content creation, etc?

Very much doubt it. You'll be able to get a H310 chipset motherboard for about $50. Still, with an $800 budget, he has loads of room with my suggestion to up the GPU and/or mobo if he wants. 1050Ti isn't pretty weak lol, it's a perfectly good card. In fact it's the best card for 1080p since 1060s are stupid overpriced and AND cards are impossible to find.

There are claims the i3s still have hyperthreading, if true, that would make no sense, The i5 gets just two more cores and the i3 becomes the i7. The high end Xeon range, their flagship 28 core Xeon (with just 48 PCIe lanes and 6 channel memory) is $13,011, granted this is a "platnium edition" (what ever that means) this CPU clearly isn't going to look good against EPYC* and lets not forget the mess with X299, intel is running around scared throwing out so much right now, some of it's good, some is bad, I'll wait for pricing and confirmed specs for Coffee Lake, but my bet is still that it's gonna be the same un-coordinated messy scared response from Intel to AMD.

*Thankfully us folks in the server area know the Xeon is still competitive, you buy the CPU best suited to your task, The Xeon still has lots going for it, however it's in the niche areas, EPYC will dominate the mainstream areas.

Yours faithfully

For BF she'd be fine with a 1050Ti, but if she seems to be getting more into it then I'd get a 1060 just to be on the safe side. Some games the 1050Ti can barely get 30fps.

I went performance with the i5-4690K beating the 9590 (or whatever that toaster was called). I don't mind paying more for more power. I think price/performance is a useless metric in some cases if we're talking about more cores, that aren't fully utilized and likely won't be for a long time, along with low frequency leaving it behind where it could have been much better.

i3's are becoming 4C/4T as Pentiums are now 2C/4T.

Why are you mentioning Xeons? They have nothing to do with the consumer platform.

Because Intel has been treating the consumer pricing line like Xeons for a while (charging way way more for a tiny gain and other odd features that only come with certain products) along come AMD and disrupts them. I mentioned Xeons also because it's a large part of Intels revenue, which is why I think Intel will fall on tough times, Ryzen won't do it, EPYC might.

Yours faithfully

For BF she'd be fine with a 1050Ti, but if she seems to be getting more into it then I'd get a 1060 just to be on the safe side. Some games the 1050Ti can barely get 30fps.

Does she like pink more, or white more?

I went performance with the i5-4690K beating the 9590 (or whatever that toaster was called). I don't mind paying more for more power. I think price/performance is a useless metric in some cases if we're talking about more cores, that aren't fully utilized and likely won't be for a long time, along with low frequency leaving it behind where it could have been much better.

i3's are becoming 4C/4T as Pentiums are now 2C/4T.

That would make more sense, but Intel has been quite unpredictable as of late. I'd have hoped they'd really knuckle down and stand firm against AMD but they're only now getting their footing but you can tell it's still very wobbly footing and they're feeling in the dark for that ace they had.

Yours faithfully

RGB set to pink? Maybe just straight up pink LEDs and pink custom sleeved cables. You also don't want to over do the pink. just have it accent the white.
