All Out RGB Gaming PC Plan

Hello guys, this is my first post here.

I'd like to build an RGB themed gaming PC.

Here are the things I thought about:

  • Intel Core i7 7700k Processor
  • NZXT Kraken X52 Rev 2 Liquid Cooler
  • Asus STRIX Z270-E Gaming Motherboard
  • 32GB (4 x 8GB) G.Skill Trident Z RGB at 3000MHz
  • 2x Asus GTX 1080 Ti STRIX GAMING in SLI
  • Asus ROG HB SLI Bridge
  • Western Digital Blue 250GB M.2 SSD
  • Western Digital Gold 4TB 7200RPM Hard Drive
  • Intel Optane Memory Module 16GB
  • Corsair RM1000I Power Supply
  • Corsair PSU Cable Kit Black
  • Corsair Crystal 460X RGB Case
  • 3x Corsair SP120 RGB Fans With Controller
  • NZXT Hue+

I'd like to hear your opinion and advice.

Thank you in anticipation!

Okay, so as a lot of you guys suggested,

I am dropping the Optane and the m.2, and going for a 1TB Samsung 850 Pro instead.

I know it would be a major change but Gigabyte offer (in my opinion) better lighting systems on their GPUs and boards. Cooler master also offers RGB fans (Masterfan Pro RGB) in different airflow types that are a bit more affordable than the SP120s and are practically identical.

HEADS UP, THIS ACCOUNT IS INACTIVE NOW

I'm keeping everything else the way it was for anyone who might check out my answers in future, but I won't be using LTT.

I know Linus also did an RGB build if you need some more ideas.

from a very satisfied owner of several asus products: their software is terrible to rely on.

I would leave out Optane because its capacity is so small and so expensive for that. 16GB of RAM is already enough for games, but I guess filling in all the RAM slots looks good.

Honestly, unless you have like 800 $ to spend on another 1080ti, I would buy another, I personally think it's not worth it. But honestly, your rig looks pretty good, I wouldn't really change anything but I'm not the best in RGB so..

Why a 4c/8t cpu with 2 1080tis?

Why a blue coloured m.2 ssd?

Why optane?

Why not an rgb psu?

Well from the benchmarks I've seen Optane reduces loading times by quite a lot and I think it is worth the price tag, but I'll look further into in. As for the 32Gb comes in handy for streaming which I plan on doing. Plus as you said them lookz are nice.

But you already have an SSD. It's for people without an SSD.

Its enough for me and won't bottleneck them.

It was the cheapest I could find in my country.

I thinks It's a very useful thing for 50$.

It will be hidden anyways.

True if you're playing on 4k. Anything lower just needs one 1080ti. 7700k already has lesser pci lanes to its disadvantage.

Premium components and cheapest m.2 ssd? The blue pcb and white sticker will ruin the look.

well... because you've chosen to go with an ssd. Its usefulness became alot lesser.

Gives a nice underglow to your pc. But not important. Suggested it because the title said "all out rgb".

Hmmm. There's a few things I'd take another look at:

  • A budget like that, but such a cheap SSD? Also, why such a low capacity?
  • I'd try and find money for a custom set of cables if you're doing a high end build like this. Black is so basic.
  • Lastly, and most importantly, we're so close to the release of Intels next line that increases the core count greatly, I wouldn't bother building a system around a 7700k.
  • Are you playing at 4k? That's the only real reason to get 2 1080Ti's. Personally I'd just get one.

-snip-

The SSD will likely be covered by the video cards anyway, so the color doesn't really matter.

It's not like extra cores would make a massive difference.

Drop both and get a Samsung 960 EVO. The WD blue SSDs aren't even NVMe.
