Twitch 2FA won't accept country code.

I'm trying to set up 2-factor authentication for Twitch right now. I'm at the page were I put in my phone number. I do that, and it says: " We need a country code included with your phone number. In the United States, it's 1."

 

I included the country code. I did it in all the formats I could think of, +15555555555, 15555555555, +1 555-555-5555, etc. But it all brought up the same message.

 

Why? Help?
