Freaking 1.7 Billion Pixels in a single screen. (LG OLED)

Hi,

I'm living in Dubai and freaking awesome things are happening here. When I visited the Dubai Mall last week there was a 50 meters wide big ass OLED screen just above the Aquarium. Freaking 1.7 Billion Pixels powered by 820 LG OLED screens. The company called Emaar Entertainment, the entertainment business of Emaar Properties, partnered LG on the record-breaking project. LG Electronics holds the Guinness Record for the Record-breaking OLED video wall at The Dubai Mall. Don't forget to feel the beauty of this video wall while you're visiting Dubai.

Some users (myself included) use a theme (located at the bottom of the page) which makes the page and text boxes black and grey themed. When you use dark grey text in a post, we can't read it. If you use White text, day theme users can't read it. Just use black text, as it is readable by day users and automatically changed to white text for dark users.

I didn't change any colors in texts. I don't know how it happened?

It can happen sometimes without user error. I don't know why.

While very cool. Video walls (the proper term) is nothing new. They are displays with virtually no borders. The building process is very costly, and hence isn't available to the consumer market for those who wishes a near actual borderless multi-display setup. This is mot the mention the fact that they are fragile, where pushing the screen up as you adjust in on the disk, or accidentally hit it with something (not to mention transportation), can break the display. As a result, when you order those types displays, installation is included.

 

LG has been selling IPS and OLED video walls for a while.

 

As such, I don't think this is Tech News worthy.
