Need more ram in my system.. can I mix RAM? X99

Hi, last year I made an x99 system, with 5820k, MSI X99 SLI PLUS motherboard, and crosair vengeance lpx ddr4 ram, (4x4GB, cl 16, 2400MHz)   Recently I ran into a memory insufficient problem in my rendering, so I'm looking to get more ram.

I was told most mobo can only run 6 memory sticks, and you should mix cas latency together....  (I don't see anyone selling c16 anymore in stores), Also, no stores sells 4x4GB ram anymore.....

There will be a computer fair going on next week, and I would like to know what kinda ram can I buy that I can actually use?

1. Mixing memory sizes? (Or sticking a 2x8GB kit into the existing 4x4GB setup)

2. Mixing brand? IE buying G-SKILL or A-DATA sticks

3. mixing memory speeds and case latencies? IE c14 with my existing c 16

4.  Does my mobo support 6 or 8 sticks of RAM?

Thankyou very much, I don't seem to have a good search history, cuz Google doesn't seem to give me good links

Thankyou very much

Just get another pair of ram that you currently have ( 2x4gb 2400 mhz ram CL16 )

I dont really see why you need more than 16gb of ram for gaming but i mean its your system so go ahead

yes you can just grab any RAM, but the "best" ram will wortk at the "worst" jedec profile (timings and speed)

for this reason it is always recommended to purchase identical kits

At no point did he say that it was a gaming system. Judging by his other specs, I'm assuming he does cpu-heavy tasks.

HEADS UP, THIS ACCOUNT IS INACTIVE NOW

I'm keeping everything else the way it was for anyone who might check out my answers in future, but I won't be using LTT.

But the problem is they don't sell those in stores anymore....  Just went to the stores, don't sell 4x4GB and don't sell cl16 anymore, so there isn't any identical kits anymore.

P.s. I'm currently in HK, which doesn't have a huge online retail market, so in stores is the only option

For blender, I believe ram speeds hardly matter, so can I just throw in some random kits?

Off topic: Reminds me of the person who spent a month or so in HK, or similar country building a phone using parts he scavenged for.

On topic: If stores are your only option, write down the exact speeds and CAS latencies of the ram you're looking for including the timing and whatnot. Though it isn't a good idea to mix brands, usually all ram is pretty much identical and the only thing that sets them apart is the OEM before it gets branded through Kingston, Corsair, G.Skill, etc etc.
