More people than you might think use Bing

Do google and/or MS make money off their respective browsers? If so, how?

I know search engines do but is that money much more than google gets for google ads?

Also how much part of MS's revenue does bing comprise of?

Google makes money when people use Chrome and Google Search because it means that it didn't need to pay royalties to other browsers to make them use Google Search.

Google pays Mozzila for using Google Search as the default search engine in Firefox.

Bing makes some money through advertising. People who use Edge are also probably more likely to be happy using Windows Store and Windows 10. Which then could lead to a slightly increase in revenue.

Unfortunately some of the money spent gets thrown at Apple for them to use Bing in Spotlight Search and Siri.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

Tried Bing, and all the time I wrote something the first ad was www.amazon.com/whateveriwrited . Seriously, I couldn't believe it because it was really pathetic. I hope more people use Bing so they can improve it and so we might have an alternative to Google, I mean there's duckduckgo but anyone that has tried to use duckduckgo for a while for serious searches knows the deal. We seriously need Bing to step it up.

@AluminiumTech a while ago, Firefox jumped ship and started shipping all new browser installs with Yahoo as the default search engine. This was because Yahoo was giving a better payout as part of the deal, and Google was really trying to get people to outright switch to Chrome.

If you download and install FF now, it will default to Yahoo.

Yahoo runs off of Bing anyway, so there's that.
