Are V700 and RM450 PSU pin compatible?

orangecat

I need to send my V700 PSU away for RMA and I was wondering if I could hook up an RM450 with the V700 cables. I think the connectors are the same on the back but I wanna make sure nothing's gonna blow up because the pins aren't the same.

I don't see any info online regarding the pinout of the V700 sadly so I can't say for certain if it will work or not. I'd be safe rather than sorry and not attempt it.

Yea I can't find anything either that's why I'm asking. I'm not about to go blindly plugging in connectors and seeing what happens lol

NO!!!!!!

TYPICALLY, NO TWO BRAND PSUS HAVE PIN COMPATIBLE CABLES!!!!!!

There's no "standard" for the pinout on the PSU side of the cable.  There's a few exceptions like older Seasonic PSU cable pinouts (i.e. Seasonic X-Series and Corsair AX Gold), but for the most part you're going to burn the house down if you use the wrong cables.

No, you can not...

You have to use the cables that came with the PSU. If you do not, you can kill everything everywhere. Especially with a wrong ATX connector.

So you have to change the cables...
