Where to get an HP battery

I have an HP Envy M6 and the battery suddenly stopped working. I don't know why. The only thing I've done is change the 1TB HDD for a 2TB SSHD, but right after that the battery still worked fine. A few hours later, I took the laptop off the charger and it stayed on for only about 5 seconds before abruptly powering off. When turned back on (with the charger plugged in of course) the BIOS gave a failing battery warning, and would no longer charge. What's up with this? Where can I get a replacement part? This is really annoying given that this system is less than 2 years old, and I still have laptops from the 90's that hold a charge.

eBay is a good place to start. As for your battery, did you mostly leave it at 100% charged and plugged most of the time? Has it ever being exposed to extreme temperatures (hot or cold)? These are some possibilities, but there are more.

There are none for my model (ae151dx) on eBay, and the ones I found on Amazon were for other models.

I charged it only when it needed to be charged, and it’s never been exposed to high or low temperatures. The laptop only left the house 3 times (but still no temperature swings) for use in an office environment. Nothing out of the ordinary.

I think the battery might have been faulty at some point. It does happen although not always.

What’s bothering me is the fact that right up to the point it stopped working, the battery life was always great, and never showed any signs of failing.

I've had good experiences with eBay for hp and toshiba batteries but that was back with their dv series
