IBM

I found an IBM Personal System/2 Model 50 (8550), monitor as well, so I decided to connect it all together and see if it ran, but all it shows is a blue screen on start-up.

Does anyone have any clue how to fix this? Any help is appreciated, thank you.

It could mean several dozen different things, none of them good. More details, did the BIOS respond?

i5 6600k and GTX 1070 but I play 1600-900. 1440p BABY!

Still, don't put too much faith in my buying decisions. xD

The BIOS did not respond, the monitor stayed blank on start-up.

Could be a dead graphics chip. Can you connect it to another monitor?

Unless it's able to connect to a more modern monitor, I don't think I'll be able to do that.. Is it possible to replace the chip?

I can't say. I'm not too experienced in this myself. Bring it to someone who is and see what they think.

All PS/2 systems use a 15 pin D-sub VGA connector, so any monitor with a VGA connector should work.

Also I would suggest checking the board and seeing if the battery needs changing as some old computers won't startup properly with a dead BIOS battery (it could also be that it has one of the board killer batteries that has leaked and has destroyed some of the traces on the board rendering it completely useless).

I just took a look at the VGA input, and it only has 14 pins, so I'm not able to connect it to an ordinary VGA.

If I post photos of the components on the inside, would that help any? Assuming the problem is in the physical system.
