Hey All,

First time posting, so be gentle...

So the tl;dr first...

So I've found some random solutions using OBS or extremely overpriced solutions, but I'm curious if there's a cheaper elegant solution to this extremely first world problem:

How can I play 4 Xbox Ones on a single Display in split-screen in 4K (1080p each panel)?

Basically, my friends and I are kinda bummed at the way gaming has been going where each individual has to have a unique online account and their own system to be able to play together, we liked the good old days of screen peeking and giving the old reach around and mess with your buddies joystick so they'd mess up their killing spree. I was interested in Skreens, but apparently the cost has gone up and they have very bad communication with their community... I'd found some OBS solutions, but it seemed like we needed too much raw hardware. Does anyone know of a less expensive solution? So far the closest I've found is here:

Is this as good as it gets?

Thanks!

If it's cheaper for you you can get 4 USB capture cards and open them in one

Then fulscreen the output

You would also need to get the kind of capture hardware that can operate with negligible processing lag or the experience would be awful.

This will do it at 1080p for about 500.

Can do it easily for less if it wasnt blocked by HDMI limitations.

But for 4 1080p videos at being displayed at 4k its going to cost about a grand. Also i hope you got a beefy computer to process all this.

Buy that stick it in your computer
Next upgrade your computer to have atleast a medium to high end modern graphics card. If you havnt been playing games at max recently upgrade. while your at it processor UPGRADE. Ram UPGRADE.

now for the reason why your upgrading.
Purchase and download the video software Resolume https://resolume.com/shop/
The low end older version will do. (if your a student its cheaper) (if your johnny depp ;) theres a free place to get it)
next plug your xboxs into the capture card.
Plug your 4k TV to your new expensive graphics card. Next plug in your monitor, you will need this to control the software.

What your going to do is create 4 sprites each 1080x1920 place them in the corners. Set the source for each sprite to be a xbox. Next set the output to be at 4k and the TV.

Now at this point you pray to god your computer is strong enough and isnt shitting its self so hard that the game is playable.

Any questions on how to set up resolume and ill make you a step by step video on how to do it.
