Curved WQHD 34' vs gsync 4K 28'

moidave

Hi,

i initially started a post in the display section, trying to decide the best monitor for a gtx 1080ti between 1440p 144hz and 4K, both gsync.

to sum things up: given my strong GPU (1080ti) but non OC core i5, and the fact that I never play competitive and rarely FPS games, I became convinced that the 4K gsync would be best for me. Also, I am a sucker for details in games, and sometimes just admire the surroundings rather than speed through a game.

Gsync looks like a must since I want something I can use with medium to high settings for quite a few years, keeping a reasonable, playable frame rate.

Now, a poster on that forum mentioned WQHD and after looking at it, it does seem to offer both eye candy, great format, and good durability with my GPU given the lesser required power to run it.

The problem, as always I guess, is my budget: I can either get gsync on the 4K or a non gsync WQHD.

the screens I am looking at are both in the 600$ range in Japan, where I live.

acer XB281HK 28' gsync 4k

LG 34UC97C 34' non gsync.

Could i get opinions from both types of screens, with pros and cons?

Thanks!
