I've been looking for a laptop for 30 hours, and in terms for build, portability, battery life, Mac wins. In fact, it can even run windows, just in case I need any windows applications for my course.. :)

Could I recomend something that has same build quality as a mac with same same or more performance? I mean you dont have to get it but could you take a look at it for me?

This came to mind as well but, I don't like 17 inch screens, and the weight :/ Good recommendation though :)

Since this laptop has a better onboard GPU, is super thin and will last you longer, macs have a thing where you kind of need to be on top of the new gen stuff daily so pumping extra money end would make it worthless. Im not trying to say macs are bad again but linus himself said that nowadays you can find same performance in windows laptops up to par to macbooks

I don't know.... But in the long run I think macs are better, so many people who have converted from Windows to Mac love it.. And also I don't like the GS 70's 17 inch screen and weight

What will you be doing with your Mac? I mean I have used both and Mac just is not a power house of an OS anymore. Sadly It was cool and now its just... well not useful. Many youtubers have stopped using OSx like freddiew. I could help you find some more options. Oh btw 1 gb of ram on a video card wont be able to run the "Retina Screen" well. Witch is really bad

Not performance (Windows PCs have always performed better for less), but build quality. You no longer have to buy a Mac if you want good build quality.

True but I mean if you can bench both Msi and Macbook with a similar bench that runs on both. You can already tell the Msi with a higher end GPU will push harder.

Okay, I'm sorry for being a cock.

I voted as well, and I guess if he wants the Mac, the newer model is the better choice.

Nope, it dosent work that way. And HD intel would not really run well with that high of a res. I mean I remember reports of Retina screen lags due to the high res on a lower end gpu with not enough ram on it xD

Hell no. Pretty much any laptop these guys will tell you is worth it more than a MacBook will be at the price point. Macs are nice laptops, but more powerful Windows choices with the same build quality are offered,

And then you'll realise that x application is not available on a mac. And then you'll realise that you can't game on a mac.

The "So many people" as you have called them are probably people who buy a $2000 mac and just use it for email and facebook.

The premium on top of Apple devices is worse than the premium on Alienware.
