I am going to be building a PC soon. After spending probably 50+ hrs browsing the web trying to find the best components for the best price, I think I may of finally done it. With a i7-7700K and a Gigabyte 1080 graphics card, this PC should be more than powerful enough to handle most modern AAA games at 60 fps. I am going to be using a 1920x1080 monitor, so all I really need is to be able to hit 1920x1080 60 frames.

Anyway, I was just wondering what you though of it. Should I go through with building it or scrap some components?

Thanks -

If I remember correctly only the 1tb Barracuda is 7200rpm and all the bigger sizes are 5900rpm. This is similar to how the WD Blue series works so I would upgrade to a Barracuda Pro or WD Black for 2tb options.

Also, at this budget you should have an SSD, it will make your system feel SO much snappier, just a thought.

Would add and SSD, but looks good otherwise.

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

A 1080 for 1080P 60 is unbelievably overkill. Get a 1070 for less or even better: get a 1060 6GB if you can find one.

Your case is pretty expensive for what it is.

Your motherboard is a narrow ATX board and you'd probably prefer one that looks nicer.

I kinda wanna re-do everything since for 1080P 60FPS it's just super unnecessary. Give me a minute and I'll post a new PCPP build.

Get an ultrawide 2560x1080, an SSD (MX300, SU800, or 850 EVO), and a 1070 in lieu of the 1080.

Is the Western Digital SSD the best for it's price?

I won't need a ton of storage for Windows and other key apps -

trust me you need at least 240Gb anything smaller and it constantly becomes a juggling act that gets super annoying. and the WD ones are great. you spending this much last thing you want is little niggles and stuff.

@STRMfrmXMN we actually stopped using the WD Blues in our build as we found the Green SSD's are completely identical but the green has the cheaper price as its a "Green" legacy naming from the HDD's and smart marketing :P

Didn't see anything better for cheaper on PCPP so it's what I went for. It is what it is but if the Green SSDs are good then by all means go for it.

From what I saw on PCPP it was. I put in a 1TB hard drive so you can store games and photos and whatever else you might want to on that hard drive then I put an SSD in there for your OS and maybe a couple games you want to load quickly. 120GB is just not enough for the OS these days thus I put on in there that was about 240GB.

Very decent build. It's fine just the way it is. But you might consider a few small changes.

I would go with an H100i V2 cpu cooler, put the savings towards an ssd. WD Blue is a decent choice. So is Crucial CT275MX300SSD1. But check merchant web sites for sales. SSD are often on sale.

If you have any flexibility on merchants, consider getting some better memory. G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2800 or G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 would be good choices. In the same price range from Newegg.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
