Hooking up my 144Hz Monitor with laptop

-Kam

Hello,

I have a BenQ XL2411 monitor and want to hook it up to my laptop(I had an actual PC but I'm moving to uni so I got a laptop). My laptop is Msi GE62MVR and has a Mini Display Port and an HDMI. Is there any way I could get a 144Hz Display on the monitor with my laptop? I checked out Display Port to DVI and seems like most cables go up to 60Hz.

Thank you for helping me out.

Not without a $100 DP to DL-DVI active adapter.

How about using HDMI? The screen is a 1080p 144Hz one, and HDMI 2.0 supports that.

https://www.msi.com/Laptop/GE62MVR-7RG-Apache-Pro.html#hero-overview

*GT Series/ GE Raider series : HDMI 4K@60Hz
*GE / GP / GL / GF / GV Series : HDMI 4K@30Hz

Seems like a non-HDMI 2.0 port unfortunately. Monitor is also not HDMI 2.0

I'm guessing this one would be best suited for me? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004I6L6DW/ref=crt_ewc_title_gw_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Is there a cheaper alternative to this?
