Will lower resolution give higher refresh rate?

tridy

Hi.

I am thinking about a scenario for a 4K monitor switching from productivity to gaming resolution, so

would any of "FreeSync 4K @ 60Hz" monitors with lowered the resolution to 1440p get faster refresh rate? 75Hz or 100Hz or anything? If so, will FreeSync play along?

Thanks.

Unless otherwise stated, the refresh rate will most likely remain the same.

Nope. I don't know of any monitors that would do that.

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:

And make sure you do it by hitting the quote button at the bottom left of my post, and not the one inside the editor!

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

How about 2 FreeSync monitors,

1 x native 4k @ 60 Hz

1 x native 1440 @ 144Hz

will that drive FreeSync nuts?

There is a handful of monitors that do this, but they're rare and typically expensive. You also have to make a few sacrifices that just aren't worth it.

It shouldn't. But if it does, you could disable the freesync feature on the one you don't game on.

It will run both at their respective refresh rates, it will look fun and weird.

It shouldn't, but you better be getting Vega 64 because no other AMD card will push games at those resolutions or frame rates

Vega 64 is the target for now. I am actually planning for December build but if Radeon Packs actually arrive to Sweden, I might jump into it earlier to save some money.
