Idk what RAM to get for Ryzen

Does anybody have the Asrock fatal1ty ab350 gaming k4? I'm looking for a 2933/3000MHz 16GB (2x8gb) kit of RAM under 140 USD. Any color is fine at this point...

I've heard good things about corsair vengeance and gskill trident z on ryzen, can't give you any personal experience though

You need to be careful about which kit in that series you pick up. Turns out mine was dual-rank SK Hynix memory rather than the Samsung B-die I thought I was buying. So the best speed I can get is 3066 MHz rather than the 3200 I paid for. Afaik there are B-die versions of Ripjaws V, though.

 

The price I got it for is why I didn't return it and opt for memory that was like $50 more expensive (the G.Skill Flare X).

Usually if its timings are something like 14-14-14-34 it's probably Samsung IC's. If it's something like 16-16-18-38 it's probably Hynix.

Anything with Samsung modules so maybe Corsair?

I have Ryzen 1700x and Asus Hero VI  motherboard. The first ram I used would not go over 2600 MHZ without crazy high timings. Then I did the correct thing and looked on my motherboards support site and, I read the list of approved ram for my motherboard.  I went with G Skill flare x 3200 MHZ at 14-14-14-34. It will run at that speed.  But the Ryzen platform is a little dodgy still and it will boot into a higher timing of 16-16-16-39  from time to time and I must reset my values . But all in all bio update are making ram run much better.
