*ENTRIES CLOSED* *WINNERS UPDATED* Build a New Gaming Rig with Linus Tech Tips and ASUS ROG - ROG Rig Reboot

CPotter

well crap, my rig is to new (aside from needing a case), I could pull one out of storage and make a video showing how sick of that old tower I was, if I could find the parts I took out, but I think I chunked them during the move a year and a half ago.

I know that feel, I used to have an old pc with a pentium 4 processor, but I threw it away a couple of years ago

I mean, I do still have my even OLDER AMD DURON 1800 tower I just pulled out from under the stairs, but I don't have a GPU that will fit in there. it's super ghetto, the case is spray painted and half rusted out at the bottom and all that kind of shit (like litterally a mouse turd fell out of the heatsink when I removed it)

not that simple, this is like AGP or PCI days, not some PCI Express fancyness. I do have a PCIE 7400gt (or something like that) GPU laying around, I gave 1 away for a PC where the onboard video colors where all screwed up, but I have something else in a static free bag, need to see what card that is when I get home.

hmm AGP, think I actually got some of those stashed away in a shed outside our house, I at least know for a fact I still have some old soundblaster soundcards kicking around somewhere.

i think i need a new pc because my current so called, "rig", is worth less than a potato. I am using a 2013 macbook given to me by my parents because they did not like it, and i can barely hit 10fps on happy wheels, so yes, this potato cannot be rebuilt, but i will happily accept a custom built pc. linus, please give me this.

I'll let other peeps enter. I could use a new CPU/mobo (and RAM, since new CPUs don't use DDR3), but my rig is decent. The i5 2400 is the low point of my build, but then I've got 16GB DDR3 RAM, a 980 Ti, Corsair CX450M, SSD, and two hard drives (one mass storage and one booting macOS for video editing), all in a beautiful Enthoo Evolv TG.

Good luck to everyone else, and I hope the winner really needs it. There's some peeps on the forum who could really use an upgrade but don't have the cash.

Gotta do a vid showing how terrible it is for gaming (though I can imagine how bad it is...). You could probs slap in an SSD, use bootcamp to run Win10, and then install and Play KOTOR and Battlefront II.

Do Technical Failures count as "a need to Rig Reboot"? I have a pretty good rig but it has faulty video cards. Whenever I try to "push the limits" on games or render a video using CUDA, it hard crashes and restarts...
