Type C and G-Sync?

Chaftalie

At the moment my best machine is an Laptop (Acer VN7-793G-741P) and I want to buy some new Monitors,

(Something like:

  • LG 34UC99
  • Asus PG348Q
  • Acer Predator Z35P
  • Acer Predator X34A

or two Asus PG348Q or I use the G-Sync feature?

My Ports:

  • Hdmi (doesn't work with G-Sync as far I know)
  • Type C Thunderbolt 3
  • And USB 2.0, 3.0 ; SD-Card-Slot ; ....

Is Type C compatible with G-Sync? (With an adapter Type C -> Displayport)

(Actually, does anyone know an decent priced monitor with similar Specs from above that has an Type C as input?)

First figure out if your laptop's Type C even has alternate mode support for DP. Type C only guarantees it's compatible with some USB protocol.

All Thunderbolt 3 ports also support DisplayPort Alt Mode

Hard to say but usually things like this don't work well due to the way laptops are set up switching between Intel integrated graphics and the NVIDIA chip.

System Requirement: Must support DisplayPort 1.2 directly from the GPU

Sounds like it specifically needs displayport for "hardware" reasons

The HDMI Port is very likely direct from the 1060, because all the diagonal tearing (I know its not tearing, but i do not know the actuall name of this) in some games doesn't appear on external monitors, only on the internal monitor.

Also all the Settings of the monitor (resolution, Refreshrate,...) in NVIDIA Systemcontrol appear. (Only if I am using an external Monitor over HDMI)

Probably the fastest for me would be to go to my local Shop and test it.
