Will my cooler fit with my mohterboard?

(>0_0)>

I am using a CPU that doesn't come with a stock cooler so I decided to go with a CRYORIG - H7 49.0 CFM CPU Cooler.

Will it work with my Asus - PRIME B350-PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard?

I haven't built a PC before so I am a little clueless when it comes to this stuff.

The best way to check this is look up your Motherboard specification and search for something like LGA 2011, or AM3/4. Then check the specs for your cooler and see if it says the same thing

which if any of you would have done...

there is an AM4 upgrade kit for the cooler that will need to be ordered.

I suppose I could however with a 1700x allows for a higher clock speed via overclocking. I thought that might help in the future.

it's debateable. yeah the 1700 MIGHT oc to 3.9, but honestly from what i've seen and experienced, any voltage over 1.35 is playing with fire which is needed to OC beyond stock 1700X XFR speeds, and i dont see that happening with a level of comfort (in my option) on the stock Wrath cooler. If you're gonna use it OC'd like it's meant, and that is heavy multi-task or heavy multi-core, and not just gaming, either take what you can get out of a 3.5-3.6GHz OC on a 1700 and a wrath or buy the 1700X and a AIO and clock it to 3.8-3.9, or as far as 1.35V will get you. the effective 800MHz boost in power is noticeable.

but heed this: beware of voltage on Ryzen.

Well I am planning on just using my PC for gaming and minimal workstation stuff (As in using google docs or something like that) so which would you recommend for that?

Ryzen 5 in that case. 1500X specifically.

or really, Ryzen 3 1200 1300X if you don't plan on multi-tasking.

100MHz on average. The 1700X does have a better memory controller, but the 1700 is a better deal. Especially since it comes with decent stock cooler so you don't have to buy an aftermarket one ;)

The 1600 for only $30 more is a much better option. ;)

multi-core perf on the 1500X is better while single core on the 1600 is better.

i donno... judgement call on that.

still think a Ryzen 3 would make a better AMD gamer setup.

The 1500X is a 4C/8T CPU, the 1600 is a 6C/12T CPU :P And both are overclockable, so the 1600 overclocked has the same single core performance as an overclocked 1500X, but much better multi core performance.

Ryzen 3 isn't very good in games, so Ryzen 5 is a better option, if you can afford it ;)

sure but for the use case he's describing, gaming, i mean is 6 cores REALLY gonna benefit him?

Not much, but hey, for only $30 more, it's worth it ;)

However I think pairing it with a 1080 (the graphics card I am going to use) would bottleneck the crap out of it.

I couldn't find the monitor but my guess is that it's 1080p 60hz.
