Absolutely man, a 1070 is a great card and a 7600k will do you well for many years. In terms of mid range, this is the sweet spot. Great price for everything as well.

It's not terrible. I'd consider going with the R5 1600 though, it's got better long term support.

With the money saved (you don't need a cooler) upgrade to this:

They are. There is VERY little difference between manufacturers when it comes to GPUs, ESPECIALLY Pascal. Pointless wasting money on a different card with the same GPU, instead of getting a GTX 1080 instead of a 'higher end' 1070. FYI, if the MSI 1070 can out-perform an FE 1080, so can any other 1070 with the right overclock.

OP- no, it's not very good. Also RAM price is waayy off and GPU is more expensive than that.

With the right overclock, but not all cards can get that, so not all cards are created equal. Savvy?

Okay, so not all MSI cards can get that either, so your entire point is moot. They are all created equally in the fact that silicon lottery matters more than anything with Pascal cards. Savvy?

It's a good system but unless you are buying pre-built, I would replace the CPU/Motherboard with Ryzen and remove the cpu cooler altogether. The R5 1600 and the Asus-Prime B350 will actually save you about $67. The R5 1600 is also an overall stronger CPU, digital foundry did a great video comparing it with the 7600k.

Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Dsny7h/by_merchant/

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor  ($197.88 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Asus - PRIME B350M-A/CSM Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard  ($69.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $267.87
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
