The Noctua Fan complications

Billy_Mays

What ones are from Chine and Taiwan since on Newegg.ca I see a slight differernce in the colours between these two

Darker Colour: https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIAB984BE1256&cm_re=case_fan-_-9SIAB984BE1256-_-Product

Lighter Colour:https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIAB984BE0869&cm_re=case_fan-_-35-608-064-_-Product

They are the same size but Im trying to find good static pressure fans for my build for a 540 rad and I want them to be quiet and Ive taken a look at them

Im mostly on discord now and you can find me on my profile

My Build: Xeon 2630L V, RX 560 2gb, 8gb ddr4 1866, EVGA 450BV

My Laptop #1: i3-5020U, 8gb of DDR3, Intel HD 5500

These fans have different RPM ratings on them...  The top one is a 1500 rpm PWM fan and the bottom one is only a 1200 rpm PWM fan.  As to whether it is from China or Taiwan, it doesn't appear that there is much difference in performance from either of the factories.

Gamers Nexus did an amazing video testing this stuff out. TL:DR they are different only in eye sight, Performance is still the same.

I thought the colour issue was only on the beige moddels. Anyway, I doubt that newegg shows a picture of the exact fan you'll be getting.

There seems to be no difference in performance either:

Ok it looks a little different but it may depend on the RPM

Alright, for static pressure fans if you need a 120mm fan, get the NF-F12 if you need a 140mm get a NF-A14. Those are there best static pressure optimized fans.

The EK Vardar are much better for high FPI rads. So if you have a high FPI rad, get the Vardar fans. I am using them on my radiator over my NF-F12s both original and the 2000 rpm industrial fans.

If you are getting an EK rad and you like the vardar fans go for it, the big issue with EK is shopping so big orders make it easier.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

Get the Vardar fans. You will be happy with them. I love em and they are quite quiet.

If you can spring for it grab the Noctua iPPC 2000s or NB eLoops.

At 120 they might be better. I have yet to see any evidence that there are any fans better in the 140 segment.

I'm using it for my CPU right now and I will consider upgrading the fans in a while
