Linux Mint starting after shutdown problem

Go to solution Solved by cisto1999,

problem solved... it was a faulty displayport-cable :-(

Hi, i have Linux Mint 18.1 Cinnamon installed.

Problem: the OS seems to shut down properly - but when i press the power button on the chassis nothing happens. Only when i unplug the whole system for from the power socket from the wall replug it and press the power button on the chassis, it will start again properly.

Any ideas???

hey @cisto1999

You really mean shutdown not hibernate? because it often happens that a computer don't want to wake up again after hibernate. This only can be solved by removing all power from the system.

Edit: grammar

I can't help you, but I stopped suggesting Linux Mint to people after I broke my install with a simple sudo apt-get autoremove (after rebooting, I ended up in a primitive command-prompt with only a 10-ish commands to use...)

Be safe, don't drink and sudo
