HD558 vs ATH-AD900x?

Title says it all, the 558's are $200 and the 900x's are $240, what would you suggest for the best sound stage?

900x

 

The 990x are closed, while they should still have great spatial reproduction the 558 is probably superior in that aspect while the 900x is still no slouch. You should be fine with either really. 

 

558 I think would be more comparable to an ATH 700x (formerly AD700)

ATH AD900x are open headphones and A900x is closed headphones. I can't really compare them because I never own any of them. :(

I don't think you'd be disappointed with either one.
