1440p Monitor Buying Decisions?

YedZed

I want to update my monitor to a 1440p panel. I want to spend 250 USD -ish. I don't need high refresh rate, although I do game, but I will be using this for media and some editing, so I I would like good blacks and color reproduction (high sRGB coverage). I also don't care too much about the stand, especially if there are VESA mounts. I don't want anything too big or too small, so between 24 and 27 inches sounded okay.

With those criteria in mind, I got it down to a few options:

ViewSonic (VX2478-SMHD)

ASUS VX24AH

Dell P2416D

AOC Q2778VQE

Lenovo L24q-20 Monitor

Acer K2 Series K272HUL

BenQ BL2420PT Designer

Can you guys please help me decide>

And for the ones with no sRGB rating, should I ignore them? Am I attaching too much importance to that?

i5 6600k and GTX 1070 but I play 1600-900. 1440p BABY!

Still, don't put too much faith in my buying decisions. xD

Your post is painful to read. I'd say 27" is the size you'd want to go for with that pixel density.

With 1440p u most likely want 27 inch at least .... id go on the basis of approx 100-110ppi or so . Thats most ideal for monitors. At 24 inch probably better off using a standard 1080p cos the diff will be marginal on a small screen with less eat ate to work around with

The issue is, none of the 27" ones have sRGB ratings, so idk.

U2515H.

Look no further, I have one and it's beautiful.

Imo, it's the sweet spot for screen size vs. resolution.

Fine for games too.

TFTCentral review if you're still in doubt.

Hope this helps :)

I disagree with:

Quote

27" is the minimum for 1440p

I think 1440p looks great at 25" and is easy to see stuff at 100% scaling.

Well it's great actually, I'm using it right now, there's nothing wrong with it, but the thing is, I'm a gamer and I would like to upgrade to 240hz or something.

CPU - i7-4790k

GPU - MSI 980 Ti

Mobo - MSI Z97 Gaming 5

Memory - 32 GB DDR3

Storage - 3.4 TB

240hz or something.

Idk if 240hz is worth it, but then again I don't know your gaming ability.

Could you give me any suggestion in my price range?

Cant find this video...

Also, if i get it used, it won't have warranty will it? And should I be worried about the lack of sRGB rating?

My bad, i meant 165hz, theres a 165hz 2560x1440 monitor from dell for $400, but it doesnt have the best color reproduction, so i would reccomend you a 60hz ips panel 1440p

That's because it's not a video.

It's just not that big of a deal, any IPS monitor will have decent enough sRGB coverage.

K cool, thanks!

Also, if a seller has no feedback, should I take the risk? Will amazon side with me if they refuse a return?
