Is the r7 1700x worth it?

Not all CPU's are equal.Some cpu's that are the sam(e.g 2 R7 1700 1 might oc to 4.1 whereas the other only hits 3.9

Even with the stock cooler he can probs match or beat 1700X performance, which is the goal.

yes but it is also not guarantee that a 1800x will overclock as well or better than a r7 1700 so that point is kinda mute
