Has AMD ever said that Zen 2 and Zen 3 will be on am4?

They have said that Zen will be a four year architecture, but they haven't specified if it will work on am4 motherboards.

I believe they have. I think they said something along the lines: it'll work on the same platform, so buy zen with ability to upgrade to later iterations.

If they haven't specified, we don't know. There will likely be an AM5 socket at some point in the next year or two, based on previous socket timelines.

Yes zen 2 and 3 will be compatable with AM4 but mainly if the motherboard manufacture makes a bios update. Expect all X370 boards to get updates and most b350 boards.

Unlike Intel's five-second rule for sockets. xD

They actually think they can lure customers back by allowing covfefe lake to be on 1151

If Covfefe lake will be 10nm, then AMD wins. Zen 2 will be 7nm, silicon limit.

Based on historical precedent, the next socket iteration would be AM4+, not AM5.
