x299 Evolv'd

I had been rocking my 2700k at 4.8GHz for the last 5 1/2 years.  I wanted something with the same kind of clocks, but more cores.  Along came Skylake X and I decided to give it a shot.  My goal was 4.8GHz on all 8 cores being cooled by an AIO.  I found success with the 4.8GHz on all 8 cores at 1.285v with temps maxing at 81c during a 2 hour Realbench stability test.  This was with the help of a Silicon Lottery Delid.  Before that I was stable at 4.7GHz @ 1.235v at the same temps.

Thanks man!  It will play anything except the most demanding titles maxed out pinned at 100fps.  Even the most demanding titles I play...GTAV, PUBG still stay up around 80fps and any dips are handled by the G-sync really well.

It is a standard xbox one controller.

Good thing I never plan on going SLI again.  28 Lanes will be plenty for me.  Thanks for your concern.

Ahhh, damn. I've heard mixed things about the Elite controller but am tempted nonetheless.

How much of an improvement do you see dropping to High from Max on things like PUBG?

How do you like the UW? I'm torn between 2 27" or a single 38" for my next build. Though I guess 34" would be more widely accepted by games.

I honestly never have played PUBG at High.  I play with everything maxed out except shadows and foliage...it keeps frames between 80-100.  Every once in awhile It will dip lower, but I am chalking that up to optimization with the game being in early release.

Ultrawide gaming is awesome.  I have been doing it for around 4 years with this current monitor replacing a 29" Asus 2560x1080 60hz.  I will never go back.  Definitely go as big as you can.  The 29" felt too short at times.

Finally got the overclock 100% dialed in.  Temps are really solid for 8 cores cooking at 4.8GHz cooled by an AIO.

3.2GHz Mesh @ 1.66v

Upgraded my EVGA 1080 Ti FTW3 with the EVGA Hybrid waterblock/AIO kit.  Swapped out the EVGA fan for a Phanteks Highe Static Pressure.

Why is the GPU AIO set to exhaust air inside the case? Are you using the top ones to exhaust the hot air from inside?

Nice Hybrid. I owned the 980 Ti Hybrid and loved it. Specially the temps I was getting with it in full load in a bad airflow case. Nice change and improvement. Enjoy your beauty ;).

Correct.  I have the GPU radiator fan pulling in cool air across the rad and the top fans pushing out.

It eas not a terrible experience, but I am glad that cards have gotten powerful enough to make SLI rarely necessary.  It is just a poor return on investment.  Even in games that support it, it does not scale well.  With cards like the 1080 ti there is not as much of a need for it.  My single 1080 ti pushes my 3440x1440 100Hz monitor very well.
