Anyone know what this connector is?

I've got a Lenovo Carbon X1 Gen. 2 and I've never used or known what this port is. It looks like a USB C or thunderbolt port but the symbol looks odd. Any ideas?

More specifically, a firewire 400 port. Because why'd they have to change the connector for firewire 800.

Interesting, but this has 12 pins, I thought firewire 400 looked more like this:

It's a proprietary port for a Lenovo ethernet adapter, according to this review: https://www.thinkscopes.com/2014/12/10/lenovo-thinkpad-x1-carbon-gen-2-review/

Which would also explain the network symbol next to the port.

Oh, nevermind then. According to Lenovo's product page there's a connector for Native RJ45, which ties in with what @Dargenfire just posted, so it's most likely that.

Yep those seem about right, plus that is the symbol. I should have realized this, since I have taken the thing apart and the ribbon connecting to that port says "RJ45"

I'm assuming a laptop has wifi, but having to *possibly* (it might come in the box {lol, cum in a box}) for an adaptor is just annoying.

yeah

I like how my laptop has a 'collapsible' Ethernet port so the profile still (looks) thin but it holds a full RJ45 connector. Convenient when Steam decides to update when I'm home and also for Xbox In-home streaming

I love me some wired internet, so much better, even on 5GHz the signal to my room sucks monkey nuts, it's all the aluminium insulation in my walls, it almost acts like a Faraday's cage.

The connection quality is actually about the same, and since 5GHz is faster, it works out better, I'm not sure why the connection strength is the same, I don't really care though since Ethernet is Bae

I think the insulation might block the lower frequency more, the walls aren't thick, it's just the metal that blocks it.
