looking to play a new mmo

so i used to play a ot of starwars the old republic and loved it but really sick of getting 20 fps in pvp mid battle despite having a 4790k at 4.9 ghz and sli 980tis.

are there any decent mmo's on a good engine that run well i hear wow runs on 6 cores now ?
preferably free but if its a sub and the game is really good i dont mind 

all surgestions welcome
i like the look of eso but apparently that only runs on 2 cores and chugs like no ones bussiness in pvp and raides
also is eso free now ?

Have you installed any mods for TOR? Often they fix bugs and such.

aparently they just make it run a bit better on crap pcs

You've tried them? And is TOR that terribly optimized? I think it's newer than KOTOR.

i tried them a while ago, im now on ryzen to which is clocked slower than my 4790k so i asume it will be even worse now

@M.Yurizaki mentioned Final Fantasy 14 being a good MMORPG. 

I can recommend Elder Scrolls Online.

Ah. Though it seems decently smooth in gameplay vids. Is it TOR, KOTOR, KOTOR II, or some other one (I think there was an online remake or something). I've been looking to get the KOTOR series, so I'll Google any bugs.

I'm into FFXIV at the moment, late starter only playing since October last year. Guess I like it as I'm still in it... there's a free trial up to level 35, and pvp opens from level 30 so you can still get to try that. They redid pvp recently so there is no gameplay advantage to playing it for longer, other than getting better of course.

 

The early game is very different from the end game, but it introduces you to the world and mechanics. I played for the main story at first, but it will eventually run out and you can choose whatever path you feel like later. I'm not hardcore so I don't do extreme/savage content, but there's still lower level raiding and other things to do. Speaking of which, the weekly reset hit today and I have things to kill.

I play ffxiv and like it a lot,  Its a bit different then other MMOs though as its very story driven, you have to go through the story to reach the end game content , tho they recently released a potion you can buy (like the lvl skip you can buy in wow) which will skip all the way to the end of the Heavensward expansion so you'd still have to play 60-70 content. This is a premium mmo as you would expect from a pay to play model, has quality feel to it that you just don't get with a free to play one.

ESO was fun for a little while, but i got bored after about a month or two.

 

i recently started playing Black Desert Online and i love it. (i recommend the nonsteam version)

 

its a typical korean mmo, so its a lot of grinding, but its worth getting the 7 day trial. (its got a $10 upfront cost, but no monthly sub)
