Are my temps okay?

Hi everyone,

I used thr asus overclocking tool to overclock my i7 7700k. I use a fractal design Celsius s24 to cool it. I achieved a solid 5ghz oc with 1.405 v.

After stress testing it with aida64 for about 30 minutes, it underclocked to 4.9 ghz. The max temps were 90c across all cores.

Is my overclock safe?

wow, that seems high.. Source:http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-3323900/7700k-safe-temps.html

Here's the recommended operating range for Core temperature:

80C Hot (100% Load)
75C Warm
70C Warm (Heavy Load)
60C Norm
50C Norm (Medium Load)
40C Norm
30C Cool (Idle)
25C Cool

Core temperatures up to 80C are safe.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

i don't like going much over 80c myself.. 90 c is a bit high..

Have you tried to perform a sudden temporary interrupt of the electricity flow to your computational device followed by a re-initialization procedure of the central processing unit and associated components?

yeah I thought so, but I followed the Asus tool guide since this is my first time overclocking

Bit high, though Kabylake does have thermal issues. If you want to keep that OC, would be worth de-lidding as this will drop temps significantly (Up to 30c).

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

Might want to bring you OC down a bit, or get a better cooler.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

ask yourself, is 1-200mhz extra cpu speed worth it over potentially reducing lifespan of your cpu? in some cases it is.
i personally like to keep the OC kinda moderate so i get a little increase as well as better longevity (compared to pushing it to the max) but try to stay below 80..

It is okay as long as you get that only in stress tests.

So should I just keep it or try to learn how to do it manually?
