Which 1070 do you have and what's the ambient temperature of the room where your computer is?

It hasnt got so hot that I suspect something to be wrong with the card. Maybe the fan profile got changed? Case fans not working?

In any note, my 1070 runs at 55-65 degrees celsius. I couldn't stand it heating up my room so I bought a 1080Ti and sit at between 32-34 on idle, 41-50 under load. I still don't understand why the cooling is so bad on some of them but is perfectly fine on the 1080/1080Ti versions...

Your problem is that you're not overclocking that card enough. It should be running at least 72-74C under load, ideally closer to 78.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

Hypnotoad's RAM is dying, his motherboard is acting like the 6-year-old AsRock it is, a couple of SATA ports have just stopped working, but the RGB remains. The RGB always remains. Hypnotoad lives. All glory to the Hypnotoad.

then that has to be a filthy house. 6 months and fans already covered in so much dust it worsened cooling? My RX470 ran for a year before I sold it. There's only a little dust on the fan

Mm, my house is clean but my main CPU fan (stock cooler cause it's a standard store-bought PC but upgraded) gets a moderate amount of dust after only a few months - enough to affect performance. Place is dusted daily and it's pretty much spotless.

So I wouldn't say it's filthy, it's kind of how it happens.. no one lives in a clean room.

66c is fine but try dusting it if you haven't if it wouldn't void your warranty maybe replace the thermal paste not sure which card you specifically have

I have cleaned it last week. there is no Dust on the fan at all. it was just like yesterday it wasnt like this.

i have gtx 1050 ti that runs at 29c idle
my room temp is around 25-28c i think

I know below 85c is fine but it just curious me. a sudden increase of temp at almost 5-10c

Maybe GPU frequency increased? I doubt whether one will remember this though.

My thoughts exactly. That + voltage increase and that'd do it.

Ehhh, the cooling is exactly the same if we are comparing same versions of the cards. It's just that the 1080ti is having a seriously easier time rendering what your 1070 used to, thus temperatures remaining relatively low. If you run both cards at 100% load you will see similar temps.
