That's the reason I came here actually, because the person I asked before was prolly shitposting.

Glad to hear that.

That's good idea, will do that right now.

Also, try running a second opinion anti virus just to be sure you're PC is malware free. I'm not particularly happy with Malwarebyte so download and run HitMan Pro instead.

Hello, first time poster here.

I came here because I wanted more serious answer.

Yesterday when I started my PC I had this huge hap on my desktop (pic related) I can't remember what was there, so I just fillet the space with python files, today when I started my computer they they disappeared I searched for them but couldn't find them, so I guess then got deleted (they weren't in bin)

I was told I might have been hacked, and that's what I am scared of.

I don't really want to reinstall my whole system, but if it's necessary I will do it.

hackers have better things to do than deleting files off your desktop.

and if you'd be hit by some form of cryptolocker, you'd know about it.

i'd probably suggest this is the right time to have a very good cleanup of your system, perhaps even a clean install.

Agree with a  nice re-install recommendation. Then make a backup image after adding your fav programs, so that a clean re-install in the future only consists of a re-image instead which is much quicker... unless you have new mobo, in which case you'd still have to re-install normally because of hardware changes.

So before I did the encryption I thought about this.

I wrote down all the stuff I (really) need and it turned out that there weren't as much as I thought.

So I choose to do the reinstall.

Thank you for your help guys
