What power supply do I need for an I5-7600k and GTX 1070?

Mezza

I am looking to invest in a new gaming pc as i am currently running off of an i5-4440 and gtx 750, and I want to build the pc myself. Which power supply would be suitable for an I5-7600k and GTX 1070?

Firstly, get a ryzen PC.

500W PSU should be fine, at least 80+ Bronze and from a reputable brand. Corsair CX500 would be a good choice.

The EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G2/G3 or Corsair RM550x.

Get a R5 1600 instead of the i5-7600K.

4 core cpus are the modern pc equivalent to burning money, get a ryzen pc, a modern i7 or a 4790.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

450w+

Corsair CX450M/550M

Corsar CX450/550

Seasonic S12II430/520

Seasonic M12II

EVGA 550 GQ/G2/G3

Corsair RM550i/550x

Also upgrading from i5 4400 to a i5 7600k isn't a good upgrade, get a Xeon 1231 v3, i7 4770/4790 instead, would be a better upgrade or a Ryzen 5 1600/1500x

Nope, that's an ancient and outdated meme.  Battlefield one, for example, will use 6 cores and destiny 2, when it launches, will use 16 cores.

Also an r5 1600 is the same price or cheaper has 6 cores and 12 threads and can OC on the stock cooler while using a cheaper mobo.

So off the mark it's not even funny. Newer games can use 8 threads, so an i5 isn't "all you need for gaming" anymore.

if you're in the US the TX650M is a pretty good deal, $60 after rebates and beat the G2 IIRC, and you can SLI with it.

Agree with the others recommending Ryzen instead... that should last you much longer in terms of gaming than the i5 ior even i7. Might perform slightly worse than the intel chips, but when games have optimised or new games should be much closer fps. And I pretty much always go for the EVGA PSU's that are tier 1, for a 7 year warranty they are a great buy IMO.

Im using a corsair RMi650 never heard my fan run 10year warranty and very compact for its size. I can still fit a fan I the bottom of my define s for extra air for GPU.

And use the CPU you like as there all

good. And its up to you not everyone on this forum to start a flame war when he asked about a power supply.
