This is nothing new. We've had these before. And what makes a couple of 13 year olds suitable to judge this?

My first PC was, no joke, the absolute KING of this type of competition.

I got:

deepcool genome (360mm aio included) + 32gb of RAM for 200 CAD

Beastly ips monitor from acer (in my description) for $110

GA-Z170A SLI (I think it was) for $110

6700k for $440 including taxes

Gamidas Hermes e1 keyboard + mouse combo for $50

Gtx 1060 dual for $325

Cx750m for $60

Total $1325 CANADIAN.  At the time the CAD - USD conversion was 30% so that puts me right around 950 USD ;)

i tried my best. :)

I didnt go for 1500x cause you can overlock. 6 cores doesnt benefit most games as games arent well optimized.

I went for a more red black theme.

the 256 gb ssd was for convenience i thought 120 isnt enough and mx300 is a very nice quick ssd.

m12II evo is a very nice psu which i have as well. Its modular which  is great.

I decided not to skimp on the headphones. They are very light and make for a good audio experience. The mic is also great on it.

the keyboard and mice both seem to be very nice according to reveiws.

the 1050ti is a dual fan model and can oc very well. I was going for a 560 4g but the 1050ti gets more fps.

the monitor is very high refresh rate which is great. I was hoing to go for an ips display but 144 hz is more important for gamers. I also decided to spend a lot on the monitor because i wouldnt benefit from better hardware on 60hz display.

the motherboard has all the important features and a bit of rgb. Gigabyte also has great build quality on motherboards.

I was going to try 16 gb of ram but i realized 8g can run every game.

My Rig

CPU - Ryzen 5 1600@3.8ghz          GPU - XFX XXX RX580 8g          Cooler - Arctic Freezer 33 eSports edition green          Motherboard - Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3          Ram -  G.Skill 2x8 Ripjaws 5 2666                   Case - Pahntecs P400s TGE Modded with Green accents          PSU - Seasonic M1211 evo 620w          SSD - Samsung 960 evo 500 GB          HDD - Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm 2tb

Fans - 2 be quiet SilentWings 3         OS - Windows 10 Home 64-Bit         Cables - Cable Mod Green Cable Extension

 Peripherals

Mouse - Logitech G502          Keyboard - k95 Platinum Brown          Headset - Philips SHP9500s + Vmoda Boom Pro          Monitor - LG 29UM69GB

Webcam - USB webcam for Wii Fitness game xD

What games will be played? Chess? Solitaire? Checkers? Tetris? Backgammon? Minesweeper? Freecell? Leisure Suit Larry? Sim City 2000? Mahjong?

Below - Quite overkill for basic games as stated above.

They would have to build the system to do benchmarks. I dont think the judges will be doing that so they will just pick the one that seems the best.

Again we need a list of games that will be played, otherwise this thread is fucking useless.

So is this just a pointless competition or are you legitimately seeking a $1000 rig that you're actually going to build?

'Fanboyism is stupid' - someone on this forum.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

Spoiler

Its obviously pointless. its the exact same thing as a man-child stating they want a red car.

Well, we don't know unless he explicitly says so.

But yeah, I'm leaning more towards "pointless competition that's a waste of everybody's time and effort".
