I would disagree. I can tell the difference between a Yeti and a Snowball

No the 2i2 doesn't have the power to push HD 6XXs. I was just watching a review of the 2i2 30min ago because someone recommended it to me as a DAC and the guy had HD 600s, and the thing doesn't have the power to run them

I never said the 2i2 did I.I hate the low end focousrite products as the drivers are a mess.

They are up there. 300ohm is harder to push than you'd think. But still, the 2i2 isn't powerful enough

Let's do some math.I'll use the Presonous Audibox 2 by 2 as a my reference because that's what i recommenced.

The audio interface is 14.4 mW/channel it can drive up to 60 ohms. Therefore with the 300 Ohm headphones you would be getting around 2.8 DB less.

It may only be a little drop in power, but to truly appreciate good headphones like that you need a good DAC and AMP

Not true. When you mix you need to avoid High volumes because it can cause clipping and at lower voloumes it forces you to pay more attention to sound

But that cost's way more. The mic is cheaper, but you need a recording interface like the 2i2 which will cost you another $100-$150

7 is vocal 8 is instrumental but it's fine being used the other way.

The At2020 and the Shure mics are much better then the Blue series.I would combine it with AKG K240

No, to appreciate good headphones you do need a good AMP and DAC. No one ever said anything about mixing, the OP didn't say anything about mixing. And the 6XXs are not mixing headphones. But what you said about mixing is true.
