Hello,

I was planning on getting a budge phone to use for the next two years or so. I have a budget of 350 USD or so. I was thinking of either a refurbished S7 edge (locked to ATT) or an unlocked LG G5 that does around for about a hundred less. I will be moving my existing H2o prepaid into the phone. In a phone I look for a good camera, good performance, and stability. Which one would be the better choice? With the LG G5 I get manufacturer's warranty, but there are a lot bad apples in the orchard(GPS, camera, and bootloop issues), I dont know if I want to risk it.

So at the alst is it worth going for a S7 edge over a new LG G5 at this time of year?

Thanks

S7E as long as it isn't damaged at all. I have one, great phone, but GraceUX/Touchwiz/whatever tf it is experiences random lag spikes sometimes but otherwise it's fine. If you're comfortable with it you could flash a stock ROM

If you get to inspect or assurance on the quality of the refurb S7 Edge and its fine, then go for it.

Even if its just 'signs of wear' normally inconsequential for most phones, its a different case for the S7/Edge because almost the whole damn thing is covered in glass.

ok seems cool. I am buying from an amazon certified reseller that has a 90 back money back gaurentee if I dont like, not just warranty for breaking. Has good policy and ratings too.

So I guess its worth the extra money for the S7E then?

Alright just an afterthought

how often does the boot looping problem found in the G5 actually occur. It seems like there is a slew of other minor problems that ar found scattered through the G5 stock. Because of that, I mean S7E should be the more worthwhile choice, though I'm pretty sad of leaving the wide angle lens.

I guess it's better? I was so stuck between the two for a few weeks. Finally I found a good seller and wanted to settle this.

thanks for the replies

S7E is just a better phone overall (except that its made to break on the first drop)

G5 was a disappointment both in design and that the modular add-on shit they tried to push just failed to impress anyone.

If the G5 had say, a 4000mAh removable battery, I'd be a proud owner of one right now.

My S7E has an Urban Armor Gear case on it. $25 and over a year later. I drop it at least 3 or 4 times a week including down a flight of marble stairs  not a scratch

case friendly has a slightly smaller edge, works perfectly with the UAG or most any other case
