Seems like a game changer to provide rural households with internet where prices and access might be a difficulty.

The users will, however, have to pay Rs 1500 as a security deposit which will be returned after three years. It was also revealed that the phone will allow the users to make free calls.

After introducing the phone, Mukesh Ambani the phone will also provide unlimited data access to all the users. He added that Jio plans to cover 99% of India’s population in the coming years and will integrate with major e-commerce platforms.

Wait what so how do they make money from this phone?... 

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

'major e-commerce' bit I suspect...and probably a lot more intrusive than even fire OS...
