How to Install Ryzen Power Plan?

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

Sorry for the late post but yes install this also you are probably using older chipset drivers

Hey guys, just wondering, what do I do to get the ryzen power plan on my system? I heard it's in the chipset drivers from AMD, however i've already installed chipset drivers from my motherboard manufacturer's website (asus Crosshair VI).

Do I need to have both chipset drivers installed?

Ryzen 5 3600 | MSI B450 PRO CARBON AC | EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER XC ULTRA |
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Black Edition | Corsair Vengeance RGB 2x8GB 3200MHz |
Phaneks Evolv Tempered Glass | Seasonic FOCUS Gold+ 750W |
Samsung 960 EVO 250GB | 860 EVO 500GB | 850 PRO 256GB | Toshiba 2TB 7200RPM

Do you mean the windows power plan settings? If so, you can find it by typing "power" into windows search and find the control panel tab that can change power plan settings.

It's not there though. Only the normal three are there, not the Ryzen one.

If Asus is on the ball, the drivers are the same thing, just repackaged with an ASUS logo.  Just install the current ones from AMD for operating system.

In the future, AMD drivers will be faster to get through AMD directly.  The only thing you really need the manufactures drivers for are specific things to your Motherboard, such as ASUS Aura drivers or some random Wifi/NIC that you can't find a manufacture site for.

Thank you all, I did get the ones from amd, uninstalled the asus chipset driver and installed the chipset driver from AMD and it did come with the Ryzen power plan. Thanks again!

I'm very new to AMD, this is my first high end AMD PC I've ever built or used, so I had no idea you needed to go to AMD to get chipset drivers like graphics card drivers.
