Video Suggestion Section

Malibooroo

I've had a look and can't see one. But a section where we could post about video suggestions could be beneficial. It could give you some great ideas for what us the viewers want to see?

Love all your content though, by far my favour tech channel.

There are three threads which are official and monitored. TechQuickie is pinned in LTT Official, one suggestion thread is somewhere there too (easy to find, really) and other is under General.

The TechQuickie one is easy to find because it's pinned, but other than that I can only find random posts about individual video suggestions. I'm sure I'm just blind, but also, I'm sure I'm not the only one...

@LinusTech Could we get a similar post pinned for main channel video suggestions?

No wonder I couldn't find what you were talking about I'm not talking about product reviews. I'm talking about videos discussing certain technologies and how different things affect others or just about random tech. Reviews are only a small part of the channel these days.

They maybe have titles like that, but they are also only monitored ones. So all suggestions go. Alternative is to use more direct approach by Twitter or tagging Luke or Nick to post.

This all falls under the fact that LTT lacks community manager. Someone who would do some of Nick's, Colton's and Luke's job, plus things like maintain suggestion threads and such,

Considering how many times you've posted the links, you might as well add them to your sig.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

Probably. Then again, I've been with this sig almost since beginning of forums. I have them in my quick links (bookmarked), but I replying on mobile to this thread earlier.

To be totally frank, most of the community suggestions we get are... terrible.

So we don't really explicitly solicit suggestions anymore, but I do take them whenever I come across them in comments/tweets/posts here etc :)

Good thing community also lets suggestors know when suggestion is just terrible. At least when its posted in GD.

Yeah, sometimes :P

To be clear, we get TONS of good ideas from the community, but the vast majority of them seem to come from us just perusing random discussion rather than reading through "video suggestion" threads.

For Tech Quickie may not be the case though!

Since you are awake, why not pin suggestion thread to official or gd? Rather than having people ask for them.

But my suggestion to make a car theater system by gutting two ROG 1060 laptops and duct taping the screens to the head rest! That was a great idea! (looking back on it, although it would be funny, it would take a great deal of time and be incredibly impractical.)

You should make a playlist for people who are new to building gaming computers that explains what everything is and how to put it together.

Not sure if they really want to go that route at the moment, they're too busy showing us extreme overkill tech that we can only dream about xDBut there are plenty of other channels that cover this in a more step by step manner. You should check out Paul's Hardware or Bitwit, they both go quite in depth with the actual build process.

Watch TQ and some build guide. Some older is preferred since it's explained better in those and process hasn't changed.

With eSports growing to new highs every year, it would be cool to see a video about what setup is best for eSports gaming, for example what processor and graphic cards give you the best fps in games like CS:GO which almost never get benchmarked. I guess I saw it barely in the Ryzen review.

But can older processors like the haswell (or even older) generation hang today? Can you still get in to eSports where high frames are very important, or is the game "unplayable" as many CSGO players will say if you have 100 fps.

Other games where high frames are abit important is Rocket League and Call of Duty I guess (if it's played competitively on PC).

If this is tested, it should be tested on 128tick servers with 10 people in it. Not sure how good ullepticals FPS test, as I've only experience ~20 fps changed when testing various graphical settings and launch options.
