Using an AFTERGLOW™ Xbox controller to play Minecraft pocket edition.

I want to play MCPE on my MXQ Android, TV, box, thing but the problem is, I don't have a first party controller. Only a third party AFTERGLOW™ (pl-3602) controller. When I plug it in to the USB the controller lights up, and the Xbox logo flashes all four LEDs. The game doesn't react to anything the controller does. This probably has a pretty simple fix, but I'm not too good when it comes to weird software compatibility.

 Thank you for any suggestions.

I figured this post belonged in mobile, because the box runs Android 4.4.2

In order to get my afterglow controller to work with windows even, I had to plug it into a USB hub. Otherwise it wouldent allow it to work.

I received a letter from the Pepperidge Farm, asking for my help in relaying the following message:

Back in the olden days the installation of drivers of various accessories was the task of the user. According to our research, the devil's magic pad you're inquiring about was designed for another devil's sinister creations: X-Box Thee hundred and sixty. We have consulted our town priest, and arrived to the unanimous conclusion, that due to the devil's nature, it is highly unlikely that An Droid drivers for this sinister controlling thing exist.

(You need drivers, but it's unlikely that drivers for that/any third party Xbox 360 controller exist for Android, but you can still look for them. I couldn't spot any from the manufacturer's website.)
