AMD Ryzen Threadripper and Ryzen 3 Product Updates (Threadripper price reveal)

Hmm interesting. I'd love to see how it performs vs an i5, and how well it overclocks. If it's not beating the G4560, are we really going to call it a win? That thing is a beast.

There's little to no information about the Ryzen 3 in that thread...

Or you could just post them in that topic?

Also your source is "some reddit user seams to have acquired..."

Why? With the significant increase in Ryzen 3 information I'd say it's worthy of its own thread. Post it in there after the pages of people's opinions and arguing? Chances are a lot of people wouldn't even see it. Most of the time I read the OP, and leave it at that.

As for validity, the information in the thread you keep pointing to is just question marks. How on earth is that any better.

There's no reason to get an i3 anymore ^_^

I hope they didn't neuter the cache on R3 like they did with the R5 1400. That really affected its performance.

Kinda disappointed in the boost clocks on these as well; was hoping they'd at least boost higher with XFR; to at least 4.0Ghz.

They did, R3s have 8MB of cache AFAIK. But, I am pretty sure that they can outperform i3s :D

I can't find any direct gta v comparisons which is quite annoying :/. There's g4560 with 1080 and 1500x with 1080 ti on Tom's hardware but I can't compare that. Here's some BF1 instead.

Doesnt seem so CPU bounded to me, Watch Dogs 2 in this test, i5 7400 (3,0Ghz) and the i7 6700K (4Ghz) are almost the same.

It's an issue because these will be going into lots of OEMs; and as it stands very very few people ever overclock their systems.

Could be a limitation from the dual CCX's, since R3's are The most defective silicon; so maybe they just can't clock well without too much extra voltage.

Might be because of the GTX 1080 instead of a 1080 ti. As @PCGuy_5960 mentioned gamers nexus probably has a better comparison.

GN used a 1080 iirc. Techpowerup is just not very reliable :P

1% and 0.1% lows are just as important and the 7700K has much higher 1% and o.1% lows ;)

*Blinks* Are you saying that the Pentium manages significantly higher 1% and 0.1% highs than the 7700k? Cause that's the only way it would have the same or better average than the 7700k if it's lows were significantly lower than the 7700k. I think it's much more likely the TPU sucks at running benchmarks.

In order for the Pentium to win out in FPS if the 7700k has higher lows, the Pentium would have to have higher highs.
