Been looking for an excuse to replay the BF series. On occasion, i'll go back and play either kotor or jedi academy.

Welcome to the group! You should definitely get some mods, they really improve the gameplay and looks. There's a list in the OP. It's a great game, especially for it's age. I've gotta get my hands on KOTOR and the Jedi Knight series as well, they look epic!

Got a YouTube channel, and have one quick edit up, only took me 10 minutes, so it's really short and not that good. Also linked my YouTube channel in the description (and like I said there, it's for informational purposes, and not monetized in any way). Also, if I violated some license or I need to contact the mod creators (the mods you can see are in the video description, along with the creators).

Here it is:

I'll get all my files and such organized, and hopefully have more on the way. If you need me to, I can find a mic somewhere and make tutorial videos on how to install and such.

Same here, except I have the old one. But man, that new one looks gooooood! And they seem to have realized people like clones and a good story. Plus, it has Darth Maul. 'Nuff said.

It looks SOOOOOO good. I haven't pre-ordered it, because I never pre-order games, but I will buy it when they release it :D

EA's Battlefront is also very nice, and you can get it for $20 iirc

Battlefront does look awesome, but for $20 I could get KOTOR and RC, which makes for a lot more content. EA did make it beautiful though...

just saw this, i too still play star wars battlefront 2, mainly to show off my sniping. Its quite easy to go up to people and just shoot them in the head with a sniper as people really gotta learn to play without the crosshair.

Noice! Though I think I’d pretty much suck if I didn’t have the crosshair. Do you run any mods?

a few. The fx mod which adds an alternate rebalanced version for each side (like rebel fighters having shields while tie fighters dont) and some custom maps. At least the fx mod allows some maps to have a reinforcement count of up to 2000, which is fun if you're a sniper.

But as a sniper i find the award sniper to be worse than the normal one, because it has a slower fire rate and with max bot count it cant keep up with the numbers. So getting headshot after headshot with the normal sniper is easier.

Sniper class is basically the best as it can defeat jedi/sith very easily at close range.

I havent played against others, but this is with bots on hardest and with max bots.

Nice! I mainly play with Evolved, HarrisonFog’s graphics mods, and then play Empire on Delta’s GCW 1035 mod. My faves are the guys with big machine guns, and Boba Fett, though he (especially his flamethrower) is OP. That FX mod sounds cool. Got a link?

This mod tries to balance the game to be more like the movie/series so by default the game is unbalanced as shown by playing only with bots. Time to time 1 side will always win even if you have perfect no deaths and hundreds of kills.

Awesome! Defo get the GCW and RCM mods, they're awesomely well done. One I get Davinci sorted on my PC, I'll edit some more gameplay and post it.

Which is the RCM? Also should I get the mod loader before the others, is it essential or does it just make it easier to add mods?

Republic Commando. Like the name says, it lets you be Republic Commandos, and brings in the super tough Super Battle Droids, Trandoshans, etc. Plus all the awesome weapons the Commandos have. Even the HUD and loading screens are updated to RCM specs.

EDIT: The mod ladder lets you pick which mods to load, since Battlefront II can't have more than 500 possible missions available.

Okay sweet thanks for the info.

Out of curiosity do you play at 60hz or do you have a 60+ screen?

My screen is 60Hz, my 980 Ti keeps it pinned at 80fps unless I'm playing online.

Nice, my screen is also 60hz and I was curious if it would prove satisfactory. From what you've described about the performance from your rig it sounds like it will be

Yup. In the gameplay vid on my 'Tube channel, it's holding at around 70fps, and that was with my 1050 ti and recording with the Windows software (I use ShadowPlay now, glad to get rid of Window's garbage). I think the max usage I got on my 1050 Ti was 76%, and that was maxed out and modded out. @Coltonw023456 tried it on his i5 and 1050 Ti, and got to about 13-20% usage, running a vanilla install.

Oh wow that is really pretty good. That makes me curious though, in your signature you mention building a ryzen system and in that you would use your 1050ti rather than your 980ti. Why would you opt for that? Wouldn't the 980ti better than the 1050ti?
