Oh, I meant I'd put the 1050 Ti back in my current system, the 980 Ti goes to the Ryzen build.

Yeah. Would be strange, since an R5 1600 is a much better match for a 980 Ti than my poor i5...

The ryzen series is really cool. If I hadn't wanted to do a xeon build I definitely would have gone that direction

I'm getting it since it's cheaper than a comparable i7 or i7, plus moar threads. Though since I mostly play old games, maybe a faster quad core is better? Though I'm sure the extra threads will come in handy on the new Battlefront 2 coming out November.

I would go for the more threads, I think that will prove more useful in the future.

 

I'm still super happy about my personal experience from upgrading to more threads, it has been fantastic. I went from a poopy dual core to having 24 threads and it is so nice

If I was to go quad core again, it'd be Ryzen 3 as a cost savings, and then I'd upgrade to Ryzen 5 later.

That is a good idea, keeping it on the red team will save you from needing a new motherboard

Once I get my room cleaned up (Don't wanna be in disgrace) I'm going to ask my dad about getting it. I just tired 18, so he should be fine with me running my own stuff, but I live in his house (and he gives me a great deal on rent and I'm on his car insurance plan and cell plan), so I gotta respect his rules. I have 11 (or 10? I forget, and we're in the process of adopting, so that complicates it further) siblings, so he's got a lot of people to look out for. Plus he's one of the guys who gives 110% at work or whatever he does, so I don't want to pressure him too much.

I would highly recommend it, it is a really good game though the multiplayer is really lacking (hopefully that remaster works out.) Your dad seems like a good guy too!

Yup. Solid dude, 23 years marine. Great dad! And I hope the remaster goes on, but I haven't seen anything about it lately. I hope EA didn't kill it.

That is awesome, he sounds like someone to be admired.

 

For republic commando here is a short pros and con list before you buy:

 

Pros:

- Good story, it does a good job of not feeling repetitive

- Unique single player experience that incorporates simple yet fun ai team commands

- Good difficulty progression, while the story is linear there are often multiple ways you can be successful in a mission

- The game difficulty requires you to take advantage of using your allies. Your three buddies are essential and you must be effective in what you you have them do

- Excellent 1v1 multiplayer value

 

Cons:

- Some missions (only one comes to mind) are slightly buggy. There is a mission where you have to place a bomb and for me there as a been about a 1/3rd chance that it will not let you place it when you need to, requiring you to noclip into another room.

- Very rarely your friends will get stuck walking into items and you have to either kill them or go back to a checkpoint. This has been a very rare occurrence for me but the times that it did happen it was a timed mission and it was essential that we all move quickly

- The game has less content that battlefront but has in my opinion certain mechanics that make up for the loss (this isn't to say that it does not have enough content)

- Over all not great multiplayer (other than 1v1, and other modes aren't terrible but they can feel empty sometimes kind of like Halo CE if you have played that)

Looks awesome! I've watched gameplay videos, and really love the idea of being in a Commando's boots. I'm also planning to get the books, and I'm working in a Mandalorian costume, so this'll help. Mandos trained the Commandos and most clones (But it's Legends now I think -Disney- ), so it'll let me see what their culture was like (essential, since colors and everything have meanings in Mando culture, so knowing what they stand for and what I want my character to be will help me design my armor).

The first one. KOTOR. Off to a slow start, but the story is good so far. Animation is pretty bad compared to Battlefront II, but I think it's older. The combat is pretty boring, since there's not much to do. And I didn't realize how complicated RPGs are with all the upgrading and equipping stuff and all that. But it's till a great game, just gotta get the hang of it. I'm eyeing RC and KOTOR II as well (gotta finish one first though), but my dad wants me to wait. Have you ever played TOR? It looks really good as well.

If you are looking for action this definitely isn't the game for you. It is story and character development/customization driven. The story will pick up as it goes on I promise. It has been a long time since I've done anything with the first game but I remember it being good if you can get into it. If you want a good action game that has good story go with RC. I Played a few hours of KOTOR 2 not too long ago and it is good but it is very difficult where I left off and I got distracted by other games.

 

I have heard of TOR but I haven't tried it or seen anything about it really
