I mean yes... I just wanted to be a pirate for a second. desktop I played on is an R9 390. I don't think I played on my laptop; My laptop's gpu is an R9 m275-also an AMD GPU.

Yeah, I was looking around and found that AMD cards make it all blotchy and yellow/blue/red. There's a fix somewhere, let me find it.

@fpo Here: http://www.moddb.com/mods/amd-crimson-driver-solution/downloads/battlefront-ii-amd-fix-beta-03. It's outdated though, and says driver 17.2.1 fixes the issue. Can't hurt to try it though.

Thanks! I'd try it now, however I'm currently sporting Linux on desktop, and laptop. I'm considering getting a budget GPU for my 32 bit win 7 pc however. Likely an Nvidia for shadowplay, but if I ever run windows and an AMD GPU I'll definitely come back!!

Yeah, and we should be able to play together on weekends (though this weekend I'm going hiking all day, and my mum hates video games, so we'll see how that goes).

Nah, SWG is dead and burried. It was a very interesting MMO in its hayday. It was something like a mix between KOTOR and Freelancer. But it you find a good offer on IC, it might be worth your time. It's a pretty typical shooter, but they do a pretty good job with the story and the squad interaction as well.

I heard that they have a SWG emulator out there with quite a few people still playing.

Battlefront II (2005) - I'll try and get together a list of good mods - KOTOR (never played it, but it looks and sounds awesome, you need mods to fix the bugs though), and Republic Commando. Which I've also never played, but I've watched gameplay, and it's super cool (you can command AI squamates, you have to cover for them, and you're always deep behind enemy lines doing cool secret missions).

I agree with all of these and I have also played all of these. Very solid games. BF2 is one of my favorites and is actually the first PC game I ever bought back in 2009 though I've never tried modding it but I have heard there is a loot to see there. Knights of the Old Republic is a great RPG and has a ton of replay value. I haven't been able to get the first one to work on my computer but I really enjoy the second one. Republic Commando is one of my favorite games of all time and while the multiplayer is lacking, the story is excellent and I would highly recommend. It has a feel that no other games that I know of has.

I forgot which one it was but one of the Jedi Knight games lets you get the Movie Battles II mod which is the best you'll find for lightsaber duels.

It must have integrated or motherboard graphics as the computer works fine. I had at a point in time had my AMD R9 390 in the computer, but I really want Nvidia Shadowplay.

It's not a super processor as it's from 2009, and not super tier, however it's good enough. I was able to play GTA 5, and Fallout 4 on it.

IDK which one that would be. Though the games and story look awesome, except the graphics. They're terrible. Though they do have that "glory days" throwback feel.

A 1050 would run BF2 no sweat, even packed with mods. Sheesh, it ran well when I only had a dual core Pentium (Now I've got a nice i5 2400).

IDK which one that would be. Though the games and story look awesome, except the graphics. They're terrible. Though they do have that "glory days" throwback feel.

I played MBII with some friends a few months ago and I think it held up decently well. To be fair though, you play MBII for the lightsaber mechanics and to scream at your friends over TS/Discord/Skype because their Darth Maul just chopped you in half.

I heard that they have a SWG emulator out there with quite a few people still playing.

Yeah, you're right, there's still projects around. I just generally tend to gloss over them on account of the usual issues with legality (I have none, but the rights holders do), flaky service and bugginess on account of the reverse engineering. They do exist though, and there's still a few peeps playing, you're totally right.

@LooneyJuice, other awesome mods are the GCW-1035 mod (I think by Delta), and his TFA mod. They make the stormtrooper skins look amazing, and bring in the guns and such from the new Battlefront. Basically EA's Battlefront (especially once you have HarrisonFog's maps installed -the Death Star is especially good - and Evolved and the graphic mod running), without star cards and it's all offline if you want it to be.

EDIT: Also, do you know any good free gameplay capture software? Nvidia has one, right? It'd be cool to upload some vids, just to show people how cool the mods are.

Thanks again, man. Amassed quite a collection now :D. I'll go snooping around as well eventually, see what combos I like most. Now to sit down and start installing...

currently it's running the CPU: AMD athlon ii x2 270.

A 1050 would run BF2 no sweat, even packed with mods. Sheesh, it ran well when I only had a dual core Pentium (Now I've got a nice i5 2400).

Right now I am running it off of integrated graphics and it works great. Getting a gpu is in the works but no sweat if you have any kind of gpu at all it will be fine

Yeah. I was installing a ton last night. Install the EASY mod loader as well (you drop the.exe in the GameData folder, next to BattlefrontII.exe). It lets you pick which mods to load, since Battlefront II can only handle 500 missions.

Well, not any GPU. It has to have 128MB of VRAM...

.... so yeah, any GPU.
