Removing LGA771 cooler

Go to solution Solved by bastian123f,

This is LGA775.

LGA775 cooler assembly is completely different to LGA771.

I think the best way would be, when I remove the whole Motherboard with the mounting plate. Then I can see what the problem is.

I wanted to prevent the motherboard to be removed because I've already placed all the cables.

Hello,

I have a server with 2x socket LGA771. I wanted to remove the coolers to replace the CPUs with another. I’m using the standard cooler from Intel (E30325). I can untighten 3 screws completely. But on every cooler I can’t untighten the 4th screw completely.

Do you know how to remove the cooler correct? Can you please help me?

I haven’t found anything in the internet yet. And the manual describes only the assembly.

I hope you can understand my problem. I thought I can simply untighten all screws and remove the cooler.

Sorry for my bad English, I'm German.
