Fallout 3

Billy_Mays

On the case it say "Rated M" but I read stuff online about it and my mom doesn't want my little brother playing it because it's "Rated M" lots of sources say it's fine for a 13 year old to play but my mom goes by the ESRB on the case and the reviews I read they said it was ok for even a 10 year old to play it so I need to convince my mom the ESRB rating system isn't that great because it uses the majority and most aren't mature so it reflects badly onto the mature 12+ year olds

i mean it got an M rating for a reason. plus it's a really depressing game

ESRB stays on the safe side so it's not really a M Rated game

Fire Emblem and Smash has a T and Binding of Issac has a M.

I'm 14 and Fallout 3 should be ok for a 13 year old.Games like GTA V should be fine too.the most scarring experiences in your life is already over too.

Eh...

There's blood, violence, child violence, sexual themes, rape, drugs, harsh language, slavery...

Fallout has definitely earned it's rating, and I can understand why your parents wouldn't want you playing that.

Pro tip: Never say you're mature. Nobody does that. Showing the woman with vastly more life experience than you, and the woman who bore and raised you the respect she deserves will give her a much better impression of maturity than complaining, and begging ever will. That's the problem with being a kid, you don't understand the long game because you haven't lived long enough to build that sort of experience. Just because it doesn't work as quick as you'd like, doesn't mean it doesn't work.

Or you could just be a PITA like I was when I was younger, and go steal the lawnmower while she's at work, and mow a few yards to buy it yourself. A lot of game-store employees probably wouldn't bat an eye. Just be careful if you do. Stay within the neighborhoods you know well, go with friends, and if anything feels fishy, just leave.

If you can't get your parents to play it themselves before letting you play it, your best bet is an arrangement where you play while they are watching. If the game is alright by them they'll let you continue without them (otherwise show some of that "maturity" and deal with it).

Irony here is that giving you access to the Internet exposes you to everything and beyond what Fallout 3 has to offer... I dare you to point that out to your parents. :P

I still think your brother should have played Fallout 2 instead. You can kill children, you can become a porn star, you can drug your boss' daughter, impregnate her, and then kill him, you can get addicted to drugs, the game is nonstop fun.

Just respect your moms decision and eventually she will let you move to higher rated games. Thats what I did and within a year I was allowed to play anything as long as I earned the money. So good luck to you mate, cheers:)

It's for my little brother and my mom doesn't care what I play only if it's really brutal

Im going to presume that you've spoken with her about why you think it is suitable for your younger brother to play and gone through a list of reasons why. If he truly is little the more adult parts of the game should fly over his head.
