Display settings reverting to 30 Hertz Help?

When i turned on my PC today everything felt a little slow and janky, i decided to reboot and open up The Witcher 3. As soon as the game loaded i saw the FPS was stuck at 30, i closed the game and opened up display settings and saw that my screen had defaulted back to 30 Hertz with no 60 Hertz option. I rebooted again thinking something had hang but still again it was stuck at 30, after restoring to defaults in Nvidia control panel i set a custom resolution to 4k/60 Hertz.
Windows display settings now has the 60 Hertz option back but I'm a little confused as to why it reverted to 30 with no 60 option. Any clue why?

Im running a GTX 1080 Ti with latest firmware and a display cable that can support 4k/60 hertz to my monitor.

Restart your PC then go into your Nvidia control panel (right click your desktop and click "Nvidia control panel") , click on display and change the refresh rate from there. This might fix it.
